Valerie (Gonda Safety Consulting Lead Consultant) is the quintessential HSE Advisor/Lead with whom I have worked since my start in Oil & Gas. Clearly the best I have met. Applauded by the Owners (Cenovus & Interpipeline during my tenure) and extremely sought after by execution teams (from VP/Directors of crews of pipeliners, fitters and electricians) to lead the program delivery for HSE. She strikes a great balance between Owner and Contractor. Always maintaining an active presence amidst the crews, she nurtures a very preventive and educative approach to the safety culture (leading indicators) supporting execution crews, and remains highly confident to enforce via the regulatory compliance approach. She also remains a key enabler for the leadership, who retains overall responsibility for safety. Sheis a phenomenal team player.- B. MacGillivray, Sr. Strategic Planner, NOR-EX Engineering

Noise Exposure

Updated: Oct 22, 2018

The Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulation & Code states:

An employer must ensure that all reasonablypracticable measures are used to reduce the noise to which workers are exposed in areas of the worksite where workers may be present.”

If workers are exposed to noise at a work site in excess of 85 dBA and the noise exposure limits in Schedule 3, Table 1 of the OHS guide, then an employer must conduct a noise exposure assessment.

If a noise exposure assessment confirms that workers are exposed to excess noise at a work site, the employer must develop and implement a noise management program that includes policies and procedures.

Gonda Safety Consulting can assist your company with a noise exposure assessment program complete with audiometric testing. Contact us at 403-740-9523 to schedule.
